A caregiver in this position works 7:00am—3:30pm. Â
Â
A caregiver who excels in this role will:Â Â

Perform routine housekeeping duties throughout the hospital. Â
-
Clean patient rooms, utility rooms, nourishment rooms, conference rooms, office, corridors, stairways, locker rooms and restrooms. Â

Clean toilets, urinals, sinks, and lockers. Â

Replenish supplies. Â
-
Collect trash and needles and dispose of them in an appropriate manner. Â
-
Dust ceilings, ceiling vents, TVs, light fixtures, doors, walls, wall hangings and flat surfaces.Â
-
Wash or spot clean walls, cabinets, elevators, counters, desks and windows. Â
-
Use and maintain equipment, such as vacuums, buffers, cleaning carts, buckets, wringers, sweeping tools and mops. Â
-
Clean and disinfect beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, IV poles and other items in patient rooms.Â
-
Strip and make beds. Â
-
Transport and move furniture and equipment. Â

Report malfunctioning equipment, unsafe conditions and broken items. Â
Â
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â

Completion of 8th grade. Â
-
Interest in housekeeping work demonstrated by previous experience or ability to learn.Â
-
Ability to communicate effectively, follow written and oral instructions, use care and attention when using equipment, and interact with patients and visitors in a courteous manner. Â

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
