The caregivers in Weston Hospital's Cardiac Cath Lab lead with purpose, utilizing their healthcare skills to enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience and create a healing and supportive environment for patients. As RN on this team, you will help facilitate this mission by providing direct patient care, assisting with various unit tasks, and pursuing individual educational resources to further your nursing abilities. You will have numerous opportunities to grow in this department and explore advanced positions if desired.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 5:30PM, with on-call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families, considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within one year of hire based on the department service
- One year of Cath Lab, ICU, ED or Tele RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking from department to department
- Sitting at a workstation or desk
- Occasional pushing and/or pulling, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, such as files, documents and computer printouts
- Finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level
