At Cleveland Clinic, our focus is on patients first. As RN in the Neurology Unit, you will work alongside physicians specializing in the treatment of nervous system diseases and disorders. You will assist your fellow caregivers in ensuring patients feel comfortable and at ease while receiving care. You will also be encouraged to further your education and skills through online and in-person courses through Cleveland Clinic. Â
A caregiver in this position works varying shifts.Â
A caregiver who excels in this role will: Â
- Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting. Â
- Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage and establish care plans. Â
- Administer medications and treatments. Â
- Initiate CPR and other emergency measures. Â
- Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.Â
- Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.Â
- Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families. Â
- Cover other nursing roles within the department. Â
- Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.Â
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Â
- Graduate from an accredited school of NursingÂ
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)Â
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)Â
- One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area. Â

- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)Â

Physical Requirements:
- Full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
- Corrected hearing and vision to normal range
- Some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids
- Light Work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
