A caregiver in this position works 6:30AM – 3:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Accurately set up trayline with correct food and utensils.
-
Maintain accurate portion sizes and appearance of food on trays.
-
Ensure all cold foods stay cold and hot foods stay hot according to food safety guidelines.

Break down, sanitize and re-stock trayline area according to department procedures.
-
Ensure all food items are covered, labeled, dated, and returned to correct areas.

Demonstrate correct use of all cleaning supplies and understand the (3) compartment sink method.
-
Maintain and record temperatures on dish machine, pot and pan sink and pot and pan machine.
-
Test sanitizer water to ensure that sanitizer ratio is correct.
-
Maintain a steady work pace to produce an adequate supply of clean kitchen utensils, dishes, flatware and pots and pans.

Demonstrate proper handling, storage and transportation of utensils, pots and pans, flatware and dishes.
-
Properly clean and sanitize food carts according to department procedures.

Set up cafeteria/coffee shop with items according to the designated menu for the day, including, hot food, cold food, salad bar, beverages, coffee, and pastries.

Ensure all food served in the cafe/coffee shop stays at an appropriate temperature according to food safety guidelines.

Follow appropriate cash handling procedures in the coffee shop.

Prepare lunches for physicians as assigned following the appropriate menu and following appropriate sanitation standards.

Gather all necessary items for caterings such as china, linen, silverware and any other item necessary for that function.

Deliver catering on time and ensure all foods are presented in an excellent manner.

Maintain a clean and orderly work environment that meets the safety and sanitation requirements of the department as well as those of local, state and federal agencies.

Complete daily and weekly cleaning assignments.

Name, operate safely, maintain and clean all equipment in designated work areas including dish machine, pot wash sink, warmers, refrigerators, conveyor belt, microwave and toaster.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Completion of 10th grade.

Can learn to use kitchen equipment.

Previous experience with food service operations.

Physical Requirements:

Able to push, pull/move patient carts weighing up to 350 lbs.

Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

Able to twist, stoop, bend and squat. 45% of the position is standing 45% is walking.

Able to work in a varied environment with extreme temperature changes and noise.
