Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Clinical Manager, supervises and coordinates work activities of assigned personnel.
- Schedules work assignments and prepares master schedule.
- May perform payroll time sheet for employees.
- Trains, counsels, disciplines, and evaluates performance of employees.
- Assists with interviewing applicants and recommends selection.
- Maintains procedure manual and communicates changes to staff.
- Assists with all policies and procedures required by local, state, or federal law.
- Assists with compliance or credentialing bodies (ACR, MQSA, Medicare, Medicaid, FDA, etc.).
- Assists with instrument calibration and records to ensure compliance with quality assurance requirements.
- Ensures and maintains quality control in regards to patient care and equipment usage.
- Ensures quality assurance tests are performed daily/weekly and all policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Provides technical direction with complex cases and problem solving.
- Schedules routine preventative maintenance on equipment to meet safety and regulatory standards. Instructs other area personnel in Radiation Protection, as needed, and ensures their safety.
- Prepares and checks patients prior to MRI procedure.
- Acquires patient questionnaire, chart, data/requisition and reviews all to determine contraindication of having MRI examination.
- Verifies and validates patient screening safety form.
- Performs MRI procedures required per protocol and performs daily QA.
- Performs venipunctures as necessary and maintains competencies.
- Educates patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Ensures patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.
- May assist with scheduling of patients as needed.
- Administers proper contrast related to patient having MRI exam.
- Knowledgeable in acquiring, archiving, transmitting and printing images via PACS.
- When applicable, knowledgeable in after hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
- Immediately reports any malfunctions to help desk and PACS Administrator.
- Observes potential equipment dysfunctions and reports problems to appropriate individuals calling for service as required.
- Maintains available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.
- Knowledgeable in billing via RIS.
- Provides instruction/mentoring to new hires and Radiology Students.
- Continually strives to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.
- May be required to rotate through all imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations. Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Must have one of the following: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, graduate of an accredited school in Sonography or Radiation Therapy, or possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or certification from CAHEA approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training program.

Certifications:
- Must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing. Or must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
- Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Complexity of Work:
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes.
- Ability to communicate well with Radiologists and physicians to coordinate proper imaging of patients.
- Strong communication skills are essential to provide excellent care to patients and families.
- Ability to function well with minimal or no direct supervision.
Work Experience:
- Minimum two years of recent modality experience.
- Ability to direct, evaluate and supervise others.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
