Centralized data, readily accessible support, and collaboration between the laboratory and ordering provider reduce the time to a patient’s diagnosis and treatment.Â

A caregiver in this position works 3:00pm – 11:30pm with on-call requirements. Â

A caregiver who excels in this role will:Â Â

Retrieve, sort, track, verify receipt of and deliver specimens. Â

Comply with safety SOP & regulations.Â

Perform basic clerical and problem-solving functions. Â

Maintain appropriate documentation. Â

Communicate and document essential information.Â
Â
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â

High school diploma or GED.Â

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â

Six months of patient care experience.Â

Physical Requirements:

Manual dexterity to perform specimen handling techniques and to take measurements
-
May require extended periods of standing, walking and/or sitting.

Handles and transports bio hazardous materials.

Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.

Must have normal or corrected vision.

Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.
