A caregiver in this position works 8:00am – 5:00pm.Â
Â
A caregiver who excels in this role will:Â Â

Manage, coordinate, and perform day-to-day operations to include personnel management, education, training, productivity, work assignments, quality reviews, and report management for the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) program.Â

Facilitate appropriate clinical documentation reviews to support accurate assignment of diagnoses and procedure codes, severity of illness, risk of mortality, MCC/CC capture, appropriate POA assignment, PSI, HAC, APC & HCC coding, risk adjustment analysis and provider queries.Â

Perform and/or monitor quality reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and industry best practices.Â

Collaboratively work with coding, quality, care management, physician champions, and other key stakeholders to improve clinical documentation.Â

Conduct data, root cause analysis, and communicate clinical documentation opportunities and/or concerns to key stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.Â

Contribute to CDI strategic planning and process improvement activities.Â

Integrate Cleveland Clinic’s Improvement Model (CCIM) and tools into daily operations to drive best practices and outcomes (i.e., huddles, visual management tools, 4-blocker, return to green plan, A3, etc.).Â

Work with their director, review, revise, and/or implement departmental policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.Â

Monitor achievement of CDI key performance indicators and initiate and execute action plans as appropriate.Â
Â
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â

Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field.Â
-
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Coding Specialist/Physician (CCS/P) from American Health Information Management Association OR Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from the American Academy of Professional Coders OR Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist-Outpatient (CCDS-O) from the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS) OR Registered Nurse (RN).Â

Three years of supervisory or management experience in a health care setting.Â

OR Bachelor degree can offset one year of experience.Â

Understand coding classification assignments (ICD-10-CM/PCS/CPT/APC/OPPS) and reimbursement methodologies (e.g., risk adjustment, value-based payment, MS-DRGs, APR-DRGs, POA, HAC, PSI and HCC).Â

Understand and communicate differences in Medicare Part A and Part B guidelines and how they impact DRG assignments.Â

Excellent communication (verbal, written, and listening) skills.Â
-
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.Â
-
Strong analytical and project management skills.Â
-
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Â

Can conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis and multi-task.Â

Dependable, self-directed with excellent critical thinking, problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills.Â

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â

Bachelor's degree in Health or Business Administration, Nursing or related field.Â

Health Information Management department experience.Â

Managing remote workforce.Â

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $36.80
Maximum hourly: $56.13
