As the Assistant Manager of Pharmacy Operations, you will supervise the daily operations of Pharmacy, such as ambulatory pharmacy workflow, bedside and same-day surgery delivery, hazardous non-sterile compounding, perpetual medication inventory and clinical services such as vaccinations and MTM. The Assistant Manager of Pharmacy Operations plays a major role in optimizing inventory in the pharmacy to reduce operating expenses and increase profitability. Â

A caregiver in this position works 8:00am—4:30pm + calls. Â

A caregiver who excels in this role will:Â Â

Review, analyze, evaluate and assess the technical operations of these areas to ensure a safe and efficient workflow. Â

Coordinate all activities with the management team and act as a liaison between the managers and technical caregivers.Â

Directly supervise the activities of assigned caregivers. Â

Ensure adequate staffing of areas.Â

Review daily, monthly and other periodic management reports to monitor service levels.Â

Plan, develop and manage all policies and processes related to technical pharmacy operations.Â

Determine short- and long-term needs and goals, assist in the development of budgets for both operating and capital needs and project manpower and equipment needs.Â

Maintain and foster relationships and serve as a resource for pharmacy personnel and affiliated areas (i.e. nursing, external vendors) regarding technical pharmacy operations.Â

Conduct performance appraisals, initiate promotions, counsel caregivers and process corrective action.Â

Provide the manager with timely feedback regarding operational issues to ensure efficient workflow.Â
Â
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â

Bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical science or a related field. Â

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) verified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).Â

Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is required within 6 months. Â

Three years of experience in a healthcare or related setting. An additional four years of pharmacy-related experience, including leadership experience, may substitute the bachelor’s degree requirement. Â

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â

Master’s degree. This may substitute the required experience. Â

Pharmacy experience. Â

Supervisory/management experience. Â

Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, reaching, stretching, stooping, and sitting for prolonged times.

Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing functions of the job.

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $25.13
Maximum hourly: $38.33
