Lutheran Hospital’s 3C Adult Behavioral Health Unit is a Psychiatry Unit that specializes in the acute stabilization of patients with disturbances of mood, though, and/or behavior. Patients in this unit typically benefit from a smaller inpatient treatment setting, which 3C provides.Â
Â
A caregiver in this position works day/evening rotation from 7:00am – 7:30pm and 11:00am – 11:30pm.Â
Â
A caregiver who excels in this role will:Â Â

Provide direct nursing care.Â

Implement and monitor patient care plans. Â

Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions. Â

Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Â

Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.Â
Â
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â
-
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. Â
-
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Â
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).Â
-
External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience. Â
-
Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval. Â

Will consider military RN experience.Â

Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).Â

Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
-
Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
