The laboratory team at our Main Campus is a hardworking, cohesive team that works collaboratively to achieve excellence and offers extensive training and on-site and continuing education.Â

A caregiver in this position works days, 7:00am—3:30pm.Â
A caregiver who excels in this role will:Â Â

Assist with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing, transporting, and storing specimens.Â

Operate laboratory equipment and performs routine instrument maintenance, trouble shooting and minor repairs.Â

Perform clerical duties including answering phones, data entry and filing.Â

Perform Quality Assurance activities. Â

Maintain adequate stock of supplies; performs inventory management of transporting and distributing supplies.Â

Keep the work area safe and organized.Â
Â
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â

High School Diploma or GED.Â
-
Three months on the job training to learn department lab procedures, instrumentation and Cleveland Clinic policies. Â
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â

One year of lab or clerical experience.Â

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely handle potentially infectious patient specimens, carcinogenic substances, odorous and other hazardous materials to which they may be exposed.

Ability to utilize and operate instrumentation.

Ability to differentiate color, hue, saturation and tones.

Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.Â
