As the Director IV of Ambulatory Operations, you will be responsible for the strategic growth in the submarket. Your duties will include but are not limited to: 

• Directing the overall operations including budget development, clinical operations and patient access, employee management and non-staff productivity.  

• Assisting in the development of initiatives aligned with the Clinical institute and enterprise strategies. 

• Partnering with community leaders to support wellness and ensure provided services are aligned with community needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs the organization and management of department operational and business activities.
  • Supports the application of CC operating procedures and communicates with management to ensure understanding and compliance with policies/procedures.
  • Directs the selection and placement of new employees, performance evaluations and corrective actions.
  • Interprets and communicates policies/procedures and communicates relevant changes.
  • Develops and manages departmental operating budgets and educational funding activities and monitors cost variances.
  • Identifies and leads key department cost management initiatives to achieve quantified results.
  • Develops strong understanding and co-leads in the direction/monitoring of the revenue cycle for the department's professional billing and reimbursement and associated technical centers within department.
  • Manages operational areas and identifies and drives improvement opportunities in key areas including, patient access, patient experience, service line cost management, quality management, employee engagement and other department functions that support the overall Regional Ambulatory performance.
  • Partners with community leaders to support wellness and ensure provided services are aligned with community needs.
  • Collaborates with Clinical Institutes and Regional leadership in implementing strategic initiatives within the assigned Regional Ambulatory Operations locations including institute growth strategies, new practice acquisitions and marketing plans.
  • Note: level of Director is dependent on the review and application of organizational criteria that includes, but is not limited to: budgeted FTE's, budgeted operating expense, number of sites and locations, and staff FTE's.
  • Responsible for miscellaneous project work
  • Provide site leadership
  • Responsible for Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for Financial Accountability to include (FTEs, OT, Staffing, various reporting budgets, finances, etc.)
  • Responsible for all aspects of building operations
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Care Administration or related Field.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • A Master's Degree preferred and may offset two years of the experience requirement.

Certifications:

  • None required.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

  • Five years progressively responsible related work experience, including supervisory experience.
  • A Master's Degree preferred and may offset two years of the experience requirement.

Preferred Work Experience:

  • Has an extensive Ambulatory Operations background. 
  • Has experience managing budgets and workflows. 
  • Has experience driving productivity and quality. 
  • Larger health systems experience is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires extensive sitting and dexterity to perform work on a PC.
  • Requires the ability to walk to attend meetings; must have normal or corrected vision and the ability to verbally communicate to employees and patients.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures. 

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $53.90

Maximum hourly: $82.19

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. While the pay range is displayed as an hourly rate, Cleveland Clinic recruiters will clarify whether the compensation is hourly or salary. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education.
