As a Lead Research Technologist, you will independently develop and design experimental studies and analyze data and information obtained from other various projects.Â

• Has at least six years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment, which must include previous independent research positions.Â

• Preferably has Experience in cell culture, basic protein purification methods, cloning and protein expression.Â

Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, performs and monitors daily project protocols. Collects, prepares and maintains required research documentation, including informed consent records, case records, clinical notes and medical reports.
- Reports and assists with the management of protocol deviations, adverse events and other project-related issues.
- Develops, recommends and implements changes in procedures for the various research laboratories.
- Assists with the preparation and delivery of internal/external presentations, conference reports/lectures, and publishing submissions.
- Potentially assists with the design, development, and writing of extramural grant proposals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Master's Degree in Biological Sciences or related.
- Must have the ability to conduct independent research studies, and analyze and interpret data.
- The ability to train and supervise new personnel, along with knowledge of the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment is essential -OR- Bachelor's Degree and eight years of experience.
Certifications:
- None required.
Complexity of Work:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 6 years of experience which must include previous independent research positions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
- Ability to distinguish color
- Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 Â pounds
- May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.
