As Research Technician, you will join Dr. Liu and her team of six in conducting basic and biological genotyping processing (PCR). A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Perform laboratory techniques, procedures and technical lab duties required for experimental studies.
- Schedule and perform various analyses.
- Assist with establishing and scheduling various procedures and analyses.
- Prepare reagents, purify chemicals, and identify, separate and quantify various substances.
- Conduct testing and procedures utilizing laboratory equipment/instrumentation and accumulate data from analyses.
- Prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables, publications, grant proposals and applications for research forms.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment OR Associate’s Degree in a laboratory science field and one year of work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree
- Comfortable handling mice
- Familiarity with lab bench procedures and animal husbandry
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences

Physical Requirements:
- Working in a stationary position for extended periods
- Operating a computer and other office equipment
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

- Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment
- Lifting and transporting equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds
- Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $18.88
Maximum hourly: $28.80
