Opening its doors in 2013 and expanding in 2017, this state-of-the-art acute care facility has 177 patient rooms and offers services in a wide variety of specialties to meet community needs. As Nursing Manager of the Clinical Decision Unit, you will play an essential role in the practice and delivery of patient care. You will supervise all aspects of personnel management and development while maintaining adherence to regulatory standards. This position requires communication skills, compassion, empathy, patience and a team mindset. You will have excellent opportunities to advance your career while guiding our nursing team in providing quality care.  

A caregiver in this position works from 8:00AM – 4:00PM.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.  
  • Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.  
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.  
  • Supervise caregivers and promote development.  
  • Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.  
  • Coordinate unit operations with other units/departments.  
  • Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes. 
  • Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs.  
  • Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans.  
  • Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) 
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 
  • Three years of recent clinical nursing experience, including at least one year of healthcare management experience 
  • High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area 
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Full range of motion for handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination
  • Frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking
  • Corrective vision and hearing to normal range
  • Some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids
  • Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Physical Demand requirements in excess of those for Light Work

  • Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
