Research Engineer – Cerebrovascular CenterÂ

Cleveland Clinic Cerebrovascular Center provides expert management of all brain blood vessel conditions including stroke, brain aneurysm, arteriovenous malformations and more. Cleveland Clinic advances research into diseases of the brain and spine and conducts clinical therapeutic trials to support patients with neurological disorders. Our multidisciplinary research collaboration combines the expertise of clinical principal investigators with state-of-the-art imaging and data analysis to establish and implement new approaches to the treatment of neurological diseases. Â
A caregiver in this position works 8:00am – 5:00pm with on-call requirements (1 week per month, Monday – Friday 5:00pm – 11:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 7:00am – 11:00pm). Â
A caregiver who excels in this role will:Â Â

Analyze, investigate and plan specific engineering criteria, characteristics and features to meet assignment goals.Â

Perform routine engineering investigations in support of current research or product development efforts using engineering software analysis tools.Â

Prepare design sketches or drawings for components, sub-assemblies, processes or equipment using CAD or 3-D solid modeling software.Â

Assist with the design, development, and evaluation of prototype medical devices, equipment, and software.Â

Assist with the preparation and evaluation of test protocols and test specimens.Â

Prepare charts, graphs and documentation in support of articles for publication, project reports and grant applications.Â
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â

Bachelor of Science in biomedical, mechanical or electrical engineering or in a related field. Â

Previous experience and completion of a co-op or internship. Â

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
- Ability to distinguish color
- Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment
- Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 Â pounds
- May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $27.65
Maximum hourly: $42.17
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education.
