The Shared Laboratory Resource Specialist I will perform a variety of laboratory activities independently with minimal supervision at a moderate scientific complexity level and function as a key support to the operations and research customers. You will independently perform proper procedures or SOPs, maintenance of equipment or other duties and complete special projects as appropriate within the area and as assigned.Â

A caregiver in this position works 8:30am—5:00pm.Â

Work with more senior mentors with any questions, training, or other learning requirements to successfully complete assigned work.Â

Can work independently or with a more senior mentor, conduct, and evaluate experiments, assays, or other laboratory activities of low to moderate complexities.Â

Calculate, compile, and communicate data to the Core leadership or internal customer.Â

Perform quality assurance on all assigned activities per procedures or SOPs.Â

Perform intake functions for the laboratory such as logging of samples and service requests, and the dissemination of basic information to users (i.e., minimum requirements for services, costs, etc.). Record works accurately and completely.Â

Maintain established laboratory inventories, ordering materials as necessaryÂ

Prepare and operate equipment for experiments, assays, measurements, etc. Â

Assist in performing minor equipment repairs, according to manufacturer and Core guidelines. Cleans and performs general maintenance on equipment, according to established protocols.Â

Support the execution and facilitation of specialized services.Â

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Â Â

Associate degree in a relevant scientific field.Â

OR Two years of relevant experience may substitute for AssociateÂ
degree requirement.Â

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $18.88
Maximum hourly: $28.80
