Philanthropy

The Cleveland Clinic Philanthropy Institute is committed to being a place of inclusivity, diversity, authenticity, belonging and growth. We believe our collective voices – donors, volunteers, staff, patients and community-members alike – allow us to work together towards world class care for every individual. That’s why some of the strongest, most impactful partnerships come out of the efforts of our Philanthropy Institute.

By helping us secure philanthropic gifts, you’ll put in place the resources that promote health, advance discovery, train caregivers and transform patient care for the future.

Making our most ambitious goals a reality.

We are a recognized global learning institution. And as a part of our Philanthropy Institute, you get all the benefits that come with that. This is a rare opportunity to do meaningful, non-profit work with the support of an organization of our size.

Our reputation is invaluable, allowing you to make an impact few other organizations can match. Here, you’ll help bring together Cleveland Clinic patients and their families with world-class physicians and researchers looking to make a difference in the future of healthcare.

In addition to greater opportunities to make a difference, there are also greater opportunities to grow and learn. The whole of our organization thinks of ourselves as a family, supporting each other in our work and in our career journeys. We lean on each other through challenges and share our knowledge to deliver the best outcomes possible. No matter the role, you’re empowered to carry our mission forward.

Fundraising goals that match our healthcare ambitions.

We are approaching the completion of an impressive fundraising campaign called The Power of Every One. Launched in 2014, its goal was to secure the resources to truly innovate how healthcare is delivered to our communities — on both local and global scales.

We also know that our enterprise-wide mission of treating more patients in more ways will require bold fundraising efforts. Our new annual fundraising goal is based on the belief that every gift, large or small, counts and will improve our ability to advance healthcare across a broad range of areas. With a consistent focus on innovation and continuous development, we aim to be the best fundraising department in the world.

A team committed to our mission.

The success of our caregivers means the success of our organization. So we invest the time, effort and resources into training our teams with the knowledge that their work will ultimately help our hospitals and the communities we serve.

Every caregiver in our Philanthropy Institute is engaged and making a measurable difference when it comes to achieving our goals. In your work, you’ll be supported in your own development and in pursuing greater responsibilities.

Gift Officers.

Our Gift Officers own the planning and implementation of our fundraising efforts. You can find roles beginning at the Development Associate level up through Executive Director of Development. As a team that is not only growing, but critical to our fundraising goals and overall mission, we currently have exceptional opportunities for Director of Development roles.

Central Services.

We are a team of teams in the Philanthropy Institute, and Central Services is set on supporting the entire fundraising operation. This team allows our Gift Officers to focus on building relationships with donors, helping the institute drive results in support of our mission. Central Services’ roles begin at the Development Associate level and continue through Assistant, Associate, Director and Senior Director levels. Career areas of focus include: Communications, Stewardship and Donor Relations, Annual Giving, Community Fundraising, Prospect Research, Systems and Analytics, and Gift Accounting.
