As a Cardiac Sonographer Trainee, you will perform diagnostic procedures under the supervision of a registered Cardiac Sonographer to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics. In this role, you will learn policy procedures and department flow and how to operate various imaging machines. This position offers an excellent opportunity to explore the many facets of Cardiac Sonography alongside a team of supportive caregivers.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30AM – 4:00PM or 8:00AM – 4:30PM, with on-call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Set up and adjust all equipment and manually maneuver transducers to perform exams.

Implements safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures.

Perform routine and complex studies and assist physicians in a variety of imaging procedures.

Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
-
Current enrollment in a Medical Diagnostic Sonography Program specializing in Echocardiography OR Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) OR Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or a related field

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Current clinicals at Cleveland Clinic OR experience in a patient care setting as an Exercise Physiologist OR one year of RN experience

Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time; must lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Ability to assist with transport of patients, i.e., pushing beds, stretchers and wheelchairs.

Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.
