Every wound is unique, and the Wound Healing Center at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital is equipped and staffed to treat wounds using clinically proven treatment methods. Our center has a full staff of wound healing specialists who have achieved remarkable success and healing rates. As an RN on the team, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:45AM – 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
-
Perform an initial assessment on all patients which includes physical, psychosocial and spiritual factors.
-
Perform ongoing wound assessments including photography for wound care patients and hyperbaric oxygen-only patients.
-
Identify patient and family education and discharge needs and implement a teaching plan of care.
-
Foster continuity of care between the wound center and caretaker.
-
Complete in all required nursing documentation.
-
Complete the superbill and ensure that all orders and charges are initiated accurately.

Collaborate and communicate with physician to develop a plan of care based on assessment data.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) presented upon hire
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

One year of recent experience as a Registered Nurse
Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.

May require some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

Medium work – Exert up to 50lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or 10 lbs constantly
