As an Automation Pharmacy Technician, you will provide assistance and pharmacy technician knowledge while acting as a liaison between Nurse Managers and the pharmacy department concerning the automated dispensing units (Pyxis).
A caregiver in this position works rotating shifts from 9:00 a.m. — 5:30 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Maintain automated dispensing systems and address questions or concerns regarding the system.
- Routinely troubleshoot pharmacy automation equipment, drawer failures, medication jams, fail counts, etc.
- Assist with coordinating the expansion of Pyxis units across all inpatient nursing units, procedure areas, OR suites and hospital outpatient areas
- Assist with installation and training on all new pharmacy automation systems and educating staff.
- Responsible for reconciling billing discrepancies between Pyxis system and EPIC.
- Assess inventory for drug level adjustments.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician in Florida
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program.
- Three years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
- Familiarity with Pyxis or BD logistics systems
