As a Pharmacist at Taussig Cancer Center, you will utilize your pharmaceutical experience and training to facilitate accurate medication selection, dosing and administration. This position is essential to the comprehensive continuum of care for patients and caregivers, ensuring everyone has access to the treatment they need to maintain overall wellness. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30AM – 4:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered and evidence-based medication services.
- Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
- Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards.
- Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences.
- Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- PharmD or Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy
- Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible in current state within 90 days of hire
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification within 90 days (for individuals required to administer immunizations)
- Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or 2 years of relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience
- Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a specialized pharmacy practice area

Physical Requirements:
- Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
- Must have normal or corrected vision.
- Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
