As Special Procedures Technologist, you are responsible for assisting physicians in the Radiology Department by performing special procedures. On this team, you will find an adaptable, respectful and welcoming environment where each caregiver plays a critical role in daily functioning. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM — 5:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Perform exams as directed by radiologist to ensure appropriate views of anatomy are taken that will facilitate an accurate diagnosis.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures including pulse assessment and sterile field preparation.
- Maintain adequate level of supplies.
- Comply with all Radiology Information System and PACS entry requirements for accurate patient, film, supply, tracking monitors.
- Ensure the safety of patients, visitors, co-workers and self by using appropriate radiation and bloodborne pathogen precautions.
- Assist and support the Radiologic student program, specifically the clinical aspect. Provides supervision and feedback to students as they perform procedures. Reviews images with students on request and provides quarterly evaluations of students to clinical instructions for formal reviews.
- Attend continuing education programs and complete mandatory training to maintain licensure, position specific ongoing competencies and professional growth.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Successful completion of approved School of Radiologic Technology Program
- License as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of Ohio.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Certification through ARRT in Cardiovascular Technology within two years of hire
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Three years of experience as a Diagnostic Technologist or one year experience in special procedures
