As a Lead Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our pharmacy services. In this pivotal role, you will delegate and direct your team, oversee daily workflow, and maintain high standards of accuracy, timeliness, and quality control. You will receive comprehensive cross-training across all pharmacy functions, from preparing medications and retrieving them from our carousel system to coordinating timely deliveries and supplying IV room technicians with needed medications. In addition to managing work assignments and training new team members, you will contribute to project initiatives that enhance service delivery. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care while gaining hands-on experience, leadership skills, and access to career development resources.
This is a full-time position. A caregiver in this position will work Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00am to 11:30pm. Rotations include every fourth weekend as well as the potential to work holidays as needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Interact with and review work of caregivers, providing feedback to ensure maximized output and efficiency.
- Create and present quality control reports to management regarding team performance and throughput.
- Ensure caregivers are adequately trained and oriented to the work area.
- Provide onside re-training.
- Serve as a technical resource.
- Work in staff capacity and possess the ability to perform all technician functions.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) verified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
- Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy with registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy within six months of hire
- Three years of experience in an inpatient and/or advanced community practice setting
- Ability to educate and train others, including how to plan and direct their efforts
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program
