Dental Services at Mercy Hospital is only one of two dental departments in the entire Cleveland Clinic enterprise. As a Dental Hygienist on the team, you will work directly with patients by performing cleanings, taking x-rays and educating patients on oral hygiene. This is a fast-paced environment with back-to-back schedules, requiring a caregiver with a strong work ethic and flexibility.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30AM – 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Review and update patient medical history.
-
Perform intraoral and extraoral examinations.
-
Record examinations on patients’ charts.
-
Take radiographic x-rays.
-
Perform oral prophylaxis.
-
Elect and instruct patients on oral hygiene and care methods.

Perform cross cover duties as a Dental Assistant.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program
-
Current State License as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
-
Two years of experience as a Dental Hygienist in which progressive dentistry was practiced

Manual dexterity sufficient to handle and operate various dental hygiene tools.
