As an Outpatient Pharmacist at Tradition Hospital, you will administer medications to patients accurately and efficiently. Using your in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical practices, you will fulfill prescriptions with the correct medications and dosages with absolute precision. Your role is an essential element of our comprehensive model of physical and mental health care.
Caregivers in this role will work day shifts of 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday. Occasionally this role will see you stationed at Cleveland Clinic’s Martin North Hospital. No weekend or holiday expectations.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered and evidence-based medication services.
- Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
- Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
- Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives.
- Utilize available technology proficiently and to full extent.
- Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.
- Maintain professional working relationships with all caregivers.
- Promote a positive work environment by providing constructive ideas and feedback to improve services and the department.
- Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients.
- Provide cost-effective care.
- Account for drug use policy adherence.
- Utilize time and resources effectively.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university of pharmacy
- Experience in Epic
- Retail or outpatient experience
- Current Florida licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh), or eligible for reciprocation in Florida within 90 days of hire.
- Completion of a board of pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Board Certification
- Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred
- Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area (i.e. Critical Care, Oncology)

Physical Requirements:
- Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
- Must have normal or corrected vision.
- Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
