The Environmental Services Supervisor I plays a vital role in supporting our mission. Patient safety is our top priority, and this role helps ensure it by overseeing disinfection, hospital cleaning and care processes. In this leadership position, you’ll manage both the technical and administrative functions of the Environmental Services (EVS) Department. As a mentor and resource to your team, you will implement enterprise-wide goals and cultivate a high-performing, motivated staff. Your efforts directly contribute to the cleanliness, safety and overall experience within our facilities and support Cleveland Clinic’s commitment to exceptional care.
A caregiver in this role works days from 6:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with shifts every other weekend and occasional holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Supervise the functions, daily operations and caregivers in the Environmental Services department.

Provide effective utilization of personnel, policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe and attractive environment.

Continuously inspect assigned areas to ensure high quality cleaning and maintenance is being performed.

Maintain staffing levels and approve and schedule paid time off and leave requests.

Ensure cross coverage.
-
Coordinate and provide orientation, education and training.
-
Improve procedures and processes.
-
Analyze workflow and procedures, recommending change as appropriate.

Provide recommendations to improve speed, quality and effectiveness of the department procedures.

May be assigned to cover shifts in the event of staffing gaps including vacancies.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
-
High School Diploma/GED and one year of experience as a Work Leader, Team Lead, Project Manager of Supervisor OR Bachelor’s Degree
-
Experience in cleaning or supervision, including roles within nursing homes or similar environments
-
Computer skills (Word, Excel)

Physical Requirements:
