As a Patient Transportation Aide, you will be responsible for the timely, comfortable and accurate transference of patients, medical equipment and other related items. In this role, you play a critical role in ensuring patients have access to the attention and treatment they need, offering a unique opportunity to make a difference in their lives every day.
A caregiver in this position works evenings, 4:00pm—9:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Exhibit excellent listening skills and telephone etiquette under heavy call volume, while maintaining professionalism at all times (may be monitored by management to ensure quality).

Utilize telephone, fax, paging system, and computer software to prioritize and distribute patient related tasks to Transporters in a timely and effective manner to maximize resource productivity and patient throughput.

Provide accurate and timely input of information into transportation software to ensure proper identification and safety of patient care and tracking thereof.

Resolve and follow up on dispatch problems related to patient, visitor, staff or employee complaints as appropriate.

Monitor and maintain daily sign-in/out and shift logs.

Monitor productivity and response times in accordance with department quality standards and reports variances to management.

Identify system-related problems and react quickly to escalate issues to appropriate personnel for corrective action.

Compile special reports from system as requested by management.

Transport patients during peak periods or emergencies as called upon.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

High School Diploma or GED

Can type minimum of 30 wpm and successful completion of an alphanumeric data entry test

Proficient in the use of computer software (e.g. MS Word Excel Windows environment)

Demonstrated excellent customer service skills necessary to interact, motivate and communicate with a wide range of hospital personnel in a professional manner and under stressful situations

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and effectively organize maintain and prioritize a high volume of requests and tasks simultaneously

Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with others

Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest measure of confidentiality

Demonstrated ability to perform the functions of a patient transporter to include lifting and transferring patients as needed during peak times and emergencies
