As a Scheduling and Pre-Registration Representative, you will take inbound calls and schedule and register for outpatient Radiology for Mercy and regional hospitals. You will provide a comprehensive set of business, financial and appointment-related services during the pre-access process or before patients present for services. In this position, you will be cross trained to staff all areas of the department and potentially rotate to different locations/hospitals based on needs.
A caregiver in this role works days from 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Perform preregistration for diagnostic testing and surgeries by contacting the patient via phone and completing an accurate interview to obtain demographic, insurance, medical and financial information.

Cross train to staff all areas of the department.

Utilize estimator tool to provide patient with estimate of out of pocket expenses for services prior to date of service.

Provide patient contact via out bound and inbound calls.

Function as a Super User.

Act as a resource for training of new team members and during the implementation of new processes.

Provide scheduling, registration and cash collection access in Epic.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Two years of experience in a customer-facing role with in-person or phone contact OR Associate's Degree and one year of experience OR Bachelor's Degree

Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems
-
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders or completion of course within one year of hire

Established communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
