Cleveland Clinic is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Director IV – Ambulatory Operations. This leader plays a key role in leading operations for ambulatory locations in the southern region, driving productivity and quality, managing budgets and workflows and partnering with community leaders to support wellness and ensure provided services align with community needs. 

 

The Director IV, Ambulatory Operations leads the overall operations for Cleveland Clinic’s ambulatory sites within the south geo-bubble, including the Brunswick, Wooster, Mansfield and Medina areas. This includes budget development, clinical operations, patient access, employee management and non-staff productivity. Additionally, this leader assists in the development of initiatives aligned with enterprise strategies. 

 

This is the ideal role for an experienced leader with an ambulatory operations background, who has a passion for driving efficiency and value. 

 

A caregiver in this role works Monday-Friday, from 8:00AM-5:00PM

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will: 

  • Direct the organization and management of department operational and business activities. 

  • Support the application of Cleveland Clinic operating procedures and communicate with management to ensure understanding and compliance with policies/procedures. 

  • Direct the selection and placement of new employees, performance evaluations and corrective actions. 

  • Interpret and communicate policies/procedures and communicate relevant changes. 

  • Develop and manage departmental operating budgets and educational funding activities and monitor cost variances. 

  • Identify and lead key department cost management initiatives to achieve quantified results. 

  • Develop strong understanding and co-leads in the direction/monitoring of the revenue cycle for the department's professional billing and reimbursement and associated technical centers within the department. 

  • Manage operational areas and identify and drive improvement opportunities in key areas, including patient access, patient experience, service line cost management, quality management, employee engagement and other department functions that support the overall Regional Ambulatory performance. 

  • Partner with community leaders to support wellness and ensure provided services are aligned with community needs. 

  • Collaborate with Clinical Institutes and Regional leadership in implementing strategic initiatives within the assigned Regional Ambulatory Operations locations, including institute growth strategies, new practice acquisitions and marketing plans. 

  • Be responsible for miscellaneous project work. 

  • Provide site leadership.  

  • Be responsible for Continuous Improvement initiatives. 

  • Be responsible for Financial Accountability, including FTEs, OT, Staffing, various reporting budgets, finances, etc. 

  • Be responsible for all aspects of building operations. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration or related field 

  • Five years of progressively responsible related work experience, including supervisory experience (master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience) 

  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Master's degree 

  • Project experience 

  • Ability to handle difficult situations and demonstrated ability to multi-task on a large scale 

  • Experience leading teams and ability to influence others 

  • Ambulatory experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires extensive sitting and dexterity to perform work on a PC.
  • Requires the ability to walk to attend meetings; must have normal or corrected vision and the ability to verbally communicate to employees and patients.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures. 

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $53.90

Maximum hourly: $82.19

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education.
