As a Material Handler Workleader, you will lead daily operations and serve as the work leader while also performing various duties to support the department. This role involves coordinating resources for daily assignments, managing work schedules, demonstrating the organization’s mission and values and maintaining a commitment to achieving and sustaining the Cleveland Clinic Experience.
A caregiver in this role works varying day/evening/night/weekend shifts between 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 a.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Lead daily operations and serve as the work leader while performing various duties to support the department.

Assist in coordinating resources for daily assignments and coordinate work schedules to provide coverage for employees.
-
Distribute work to maintain departmental workflow for assigned areas.
-
Provide training, coaching and guidance to team members and participate in daily huddles as needed.
-
Resolve shipping and receiving issues directly with vendors or carriers and receive storeroom stock items from shipping and receiving, unpack and inspect items for damage, verify accuracy of shipments and input information into the warehouse management system.

Monitor reports, resolve discrepancies, verify accuracy of receipts and orders filled and participate in consignment audits.

Adjust par levels based on usage within the ERP system and develop or manage changes to existing systems when necessary.
-
Respond to recalls as directed by the FDA or other regulatory agencies.
-
Ensure the facility meets regulatory requirements for handling biohazardous waste.
-
Coordinate backorder processes, notify users of back orders and work to identify alternate products.
-
Act as a resource for special supply requests and provide support to the hospital supervisor on project work.

Handle returns by completing technical documentation and required communication.
-
Deliver supplies and materials to hospital units and healthcare facilities.
-
Monitor dock traffic, prioritize deliveries, ensure safe receipt of goods and supplies, and put away freight, packages and perishable items.

Verify accuracy of shipments, document variances and prepare goods and supplies for distribution, prioritizing and labeling loads to ensure safe, correct and timely delivery.

Stock picking locations manually or with equipment according to identifying information such as size, style, and numbers, ensuring safe material movement.

Perform physical stock counts for inventory control verification, rotate stock to minimize loss and perform cycle counts as required.

Survey, fill, and stock nursing floors and clinical areas.

Deliver items to hospital locations, unload and unpack cases and stock designated storage areas with supplies.

Maintain cleanliness of storeroom areas, collect pallets for pickup and collaborate with external teams to locate missing packages.

Perform routine expiry management duties to meet KPIs and ensure product quality meets requirements.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

High School Diploma or GED
-
Three years of experience in inventory control functions with responsibility for par levels, purchasing functions, inventory analysis and usage trends OR in lieu of three years’ experience, an associate’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field

Strong computer skills

Several years of outpatient experience

Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting items that weigh up to 50 pounds.

Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 800 pounds, and pull a 2500-pound pallet using a manual pallet jack.

Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

Lifts and carries.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and work irregular hours.
