As a Dietary Aide I, you provide proper food handling, portioning, serving, preparing and cooking to ensure patients receive the best possible experience while receiving care. You will ensure they understand any dietary changes or answer their questions as needed. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in both their lives and the community.
A caregiver in this role works various day/evening/night/weekend shifts from 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Accurately set up and deliver patient trays ensuring correct portions of food and beverage items are correct
- Demonstrates working knowledge of specific therapeutic diets following department standards and procedures.
- Utilizes and rotates food products, appropriately stores leftovers, labels and dates food items
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Six months experience in food service

Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus also required.
