As Appointment Center Patient Service Specialist, your focus will be on providing unparalleled patient care and support. You will answer inbound phone calls, transfer calls to the appropriate office, schedule primary care appointments and verify patient information. While this position is primarily remote, you have the opportunity to closely collaborate with your team and develop close relationships built on a shared passion for serving your community. You will also have educational resources to enhance your customer service skills and medical terminology.
A caregiver in this position works from 8:00AM – 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide customer service to patients by coordinating services, directing callers to appropriate scheduling area and providing special instructions.

Determine appointment type and urgency and schedules appointments.

Communicate scheduling information, instructions and directions.

Capture and verify referrals and cancellation reasons, insurance coverage and physician data.

Process intranet appointment scheduling requests.

Act as a liaison for outside referring physicians and facilities to resolve scheduling issues between patients and providers.

Maintain acceptable performance in quality, patient experience, first call resolution (FCR), customer satisfaction, teamwork and medical terminology.

Monitor combined registration reports, AHIQA.

Identify patients in need of financial counseling to facilitate payment then align correct insurance coverage with type of service provided and processes insurance registration.

Utilize customer service skills to resolve patient's concerns and issues.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor’s Degree
-
Three years of high–touch customer experience OR three years of Cleveland Clinic Epic experience OR completed CC Epic scheduling and registration and appointment center training

Typing speed of 25 WPM

Physical Requirements:

Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce material on a PC; normal or corrected vision and hearing.
