Opening its doors in 2013 and expanding in 2017, this state-of-the-art acute care facility has 177 patient rooms and offers a wide variety of services to meet community needs. As CS Lead Respiratory Care, you will provide managerial and clinical leadership of your assigned team at Tradition Hospital and Martin Health, as needed. You will also serve as a Registered Respiratory Therapist to support a diverse population, with many patients managing various chronic respiratory disorders, critical illnesses and related symptoms. In this role, combining your skills with a compassionate attitude and outlook can make a difference in their lives and help promote a journey toward recovery or stability.  

A caregiver in this position works nights from 6:15PM – 7:00AM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the Respiratory staff as designated by departmental management. 

  • Monitor daily operations of assigned areas and act as a resource person for staff. 

  • Assign therapist workload and adjust staffing based on patient volume. 

  • Participate in continuous quality improvement. 

  • Provide feedback on staff performance. 

  • Assist with development and implementation of Respiratory Therapy Policy/Procedures/Protocols. 

  • Act as a Respiratory Care liaison by developing/maintaining communication with the multidisciplinary care team. 

  • Assist with developing and providing ongoing orientation/training for newly hired therapists, existing staff, nursing and LIPs. 

  • Perform blood gas puncture and analysis (where applicable). 

  • Perform patient education regarding treatment and care of respiratory illness/disease to patient and family (where applicable). 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy and three years of experience in Respiratory Therapy, including critical care or a specialty environment OR Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience  

  • Current Florida Department of Health Licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

  • Current registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Requires normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.

  • May require sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

  • Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
