As a member of the Centralized Staffing Operation team, you will provide customer service and support to caregivers within the nursing units. You will review staffing and scheduling adjustments, communicate with assigned areas, generate and review 24-hour staffing projections and seek coverage for shifts. This role is essential to the ongoing organization and cohesion across units, making you an invaluable asset to the team and Cleveland Clinic enterprise.
A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 8:30PM or 12:00/2:00PM – 8:30PM, with four shifts/six-week period.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Work directly with management of assigned facility/units to review and discuss consistent staffing levels that reflect the appropriate number of licensed and unlicensed staff to meet quality and safe patient staffing and operational needs.
- Proactively generate and review 24-hour staffing projections.
- Seek coverage via phone calls and/or texts for shifts and special circumstances.
- Utilize scripted responses when appropriate.
- Recognize the need for escalation of staffing challenges.
- Conduct the Lack of Work process according to Standard Operating Procedure when necessary to maintain safe and productive staffing.
- Resolve complex problems with minimal leadership guidance.
- Utilize staffing and scheduling knowledge to identify and resolve complex staffing issues that directly affect patient care.
- Utilize multiple computer systems to communicate with nursing leadership of all hospitals.
- Work collaboratively with nurse leadership to review current and anticipated staffing needs.
- Work collaboratively with nursing institute timekeeping to ensure proper coding of caregiver’s time.
- Provide customer support to internal and external caregivers.
- Facilitate the scheduling of PRN staff and agency staff to maintain operations for the assigned units.
- Complete appropriate documentation utilizing Kronos for caregiver schedule changes.
- Be the point of contact for unit call offs.
- Accurately record, document, and report call offs according to SOP.
- Compile ad hoc and scheduled reports for Chief Nursing Offers, Nursing Directors, and Nurse Managers.
- Attend and successfully complete required training.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma/GED and two years of customer service experience OR Associate's Degree and one year of experience OR Bachelor’s Degree
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and database software
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- One year of staffing/scheduling experience

Physical Requirements:
- Requires manual dexterity for constant data entry and ability to sit for long periods of time.

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $16.47
Maximum hourly: $23.61
