Responsibilities:
- Applies suitable electrodes on predetermined measured positions and selecting appropriate montages.
- Calibrates and adjusts equipment
- Observes patients with video and digital recording equipment; ensures EEG and tape are lined up exactly; checks focus, lighting and microphone
- Abstracts relevant patient information from clinical record and obtains additional information by questioning.
- Applies electrodes, respiration monitors and EKG
- Other duties assigned
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of physical and biological sciences normally attained through high school course work with emphasis in those areas
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Languages:
- English
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within one month of hire.
Complexity of Work:
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic ever changing environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
- Minimum six months direct patient care experience
- One year post-secondary education may substitute for experience.
Physical Requirements:
- A high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC< normal or corrected vision, extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying 50 pounds
- Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients, i.e. pushing beds, carts and wheelchairs.
- Ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.

- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
