- Maintains established department policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Reviews, maintains, and updates patient charts for necessary information including physician's order, appropriate history, required documentation, and signatures and enters accurate data into computer report system for distribution.
- Explains and prepares patients and families for the procedure.
- Conducts stress testing utilizing professional knowledge and expertise to recognize arrhythmias and/or indications for discontinuing testing with the designated Cardiologist on premises. Notifies appropriate physician according to established policies.
- Maintains procedure rooms (cleans and checks equipment to ensure proper working order, checks drugs, linens, etc.) and inspects rooms to ensure appropriate levels of cleanliness and safety.
- Prepares and logs patient charges–accurately enters patient charge procedures and other pertinent information into computer data system.
- Assists in instructing other staff members in procedures, observes proper technique, and serves as a mentor to new nursing staff members.
- Assists in ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, evaluation of equipment, and preparing department reports.
- Participates in educational programs and other opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Assists in developing and evaluating quality improvement performance standards.
- Follows system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
- Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure. Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Education:

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Certifications:
- Registered Nurse with license to practice in the State of Ohio. Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Complexity of Work:
- Maintains competencies specific to patient population served.
Work Experience:
- Three to five years nursing experience in critical care or cardiology.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
- Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
- Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
