As a Nursing Operations Manager, you will identify problems in workflow, patient care or procedures and implement innovative solutions. You will collaborate with physicians, administrators and other professionals to facilitate the best possible healthcare experience for everyone, from patients to caregivers. A caregiver in this position works on as an-needed basis, with night and overnight requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Identify and ensure appropriate placement, facilitation and expedition of all patient flow transactions, including direct and emergency patient admissions and transfers, in accordance with established clinical standards and knowledge of disease entities.
- Address significant patient issues throughout the house and communicate with relevant leaders.
- Handle staffing needs and make modifications, if necessary, to ensure equitable staffing arrangements throughout the hospital.
- Manage the patient experience trans-organizationally to optimize all resources to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
- Monitor and adhere to the annual hospital operating budget.
- Approve or monitor expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Three years of experience in an acute care setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- One year of management experience

Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking, standing, sitting.
- Manual dexterity, corrected vision, hand and eye coordination.
- Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
