Chaplains provide spiritual support to patients, families and caregivers, helping facilitate spiritual healing and enhance well-being. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 12:00am – 12:00am. This position is on call.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide education and consultation for physicians, nurses and other caregivers.
- Offer spiritual care and counseling for patients, families and caregivers of all faith groups, ages and conditions.
- Foster spiritual resources for healing.
- Provide crisis and ongoing care.
- Work regular and on-call hours.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Master’s of Divinity or equivalent
- Board-Certified Chaplain Certification or eligible within two years OR ACPE Supervisor of Clinical Pastoral Education Certification
- One year of Ministry experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Behavioral Health experience
- Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education

Physical Requirements:
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
- Facilitating movement of the patient
- Climbing stairs
- Normal or correctable vision and hearing to hear normal conversations
