The Department of Neurosurgery and the Center for Spine Health in the Neurological Institute at the Cleveland Clinic is seeking a full time, spine neurosurgeon to join a team of multi-disciplinary providers. The practice will be primarily located at our Hillcrest Hospital located in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, with availability to perform cases at the Main Campus.
Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute offers a patient-focused, disease-specific approach to neurological care. Our unique, fully integrated model allows us to measure quality and outcomes on a continual basis, which we believe will enhance our ability to conduct research and benefit future patients. Cleveland Clinic’s neurology and neurosurgery program, brings that same level of care to the Neurological Institute at Hillcrest Hospital, a Level II Trauma center.
The applicant must be a BC/BE neurosurgeon. Spine fellowship training is preferred but not required. Surgical volume consists of complex and routine spine cases. The newly recruited neurosurgeon will participate in general neurosurgery and trauma call. Call is on average 1:6. Additional responsibilities will include clinical care, teaching, and research activities. The Center for Spine Health is a uniquely integrated department including orthopaedic and neurosurgical trained spine surgeons, medical spine specialists, including rheumatologist, physiatrists, interventionalists, osteopathic physicians, psychologists, advanced practice practitioners, specialty trained nurses as well as a comprehensive chronic pain rehabilitation program. The Center features fellowship programs in both spine surgery and spine medicine, the former of which is the largest in the United States. In addition to a dynamic, collaborative clinical and surgical practice, the position requires the participation in resident and fellow teaching as well as basic, translational, biomechanical and/or clinical research. Clinicians in the Center for Spine Health work closely with other specialists in the Neurological Institute, particularly in the Center for Neuroimaging to provide evidence-informed, comprehensive world class spine care.
