Facilities Management Manager – Intradepartmental Position

This position offers a host of support from the buildings + design team including construction, compliance, sustainability, and Fire and Life Safety. Working with these teams collaboratively, you will learn and grow your knowledge in these areas. 

 

A caregiver in this position works days, 7:30am—5:00pm.  

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Take responsibility for the safe and continuous operation of the assigned facilities shop/trade including Preventative Maintenance, Operation and testing in accordance with state laws, applicable codes, and policies. 

  • Ensure compliance with all facility regulatory and accreditation requirements. 

  • Establish systems and processes to attract, develop, engage, and retain talented employees. 

  • Develop Preventative Maintenance needed for maintaining building systems and trade standards/specifications. 

  • Establish systems and processes to attract, develop, engage, and retain talented employees. 

  • Create a work environment where people can realize their full potential to meet current and future clinical and business challenges. 

  • Through coaching and mentoring, it provides ongoing performance feedback to assigned employees. 

  • Ensure staffing and capacity planning for the assigned shop/trade. 

  • Focus and guide assigned employees in accomplishing work objectives; holding elevated expectations for self and others. 

  • Develop and initiate training and operating procedures for respective shop and ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols. 

  • Perform quality assurance reviews of work completed by assigned employees. 

  • Analyze problems and coordinate work plans with other departments as appropriate. 

  • Manage current expenses in a responsible manner. Reviews inventory of equipment and materials and initiates purchase requisitions. 

  • Maintain basic knowledge of applicable statutory, regulatory, and administrative requirements relative to departmental operations and ensure departmental compliance. 

  • Generate Infrastructure requirements and prioritization for the assigned region working closely with the Director of Infrastructure 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Completion of apprenticeship trade or vocational school.  

  • OR knowledge obtained through four years of on-the-job training experience in the appropriate area of responsibility. 

  • Associates degree.  

  • OR substituted by an additional two years of experience. 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or related field.  

  • OR an additional four years of supervisory or managerial experience may substitute degree requirement. 

  • Master license and other licenses required as appropriate for trade. 

  • Four years of experience as a fully qualified tradesperson or technician in respective area of responsibility (e.g., electrical, plumbing). 

  • Can work with employees, interdepartmental teams, and organizational leadership across the enterprise to effectively complete goals. 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Membership in professional trade organization. 

  • Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM), Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) or Professional Engineer (PE). 

  • An additional two years of previous supervisory or managerial experience or a demonstration of formal education in business management. 

  • Healthcare experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands require full body motion including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching, climbing ladders; requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery; typically required to lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100 lbs. and/or assist with lifting weights exceeding 100 lbs.

  • Requires color acuity sufficient to distinguish color coded wiring and piping.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $44.53

Maximum hourly: $67.92

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
