As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will support a diverse patient population, with many managing various chronic respiratory disorders, critical illnesses and related symptoms. In this role, combining your skills with a compassionate attitude and outlook can make a difference in their lives and help promote a journey toward recovery or stability. All the while, you will gain extensive hands-on experience, enhance your skills, earn incentive pay and explore the numerous professional development resources offered by Cleveland Clinic. At this location, you will also work with a close-knit group of tenured RRTs seeking to advance and excel to the top of their licensure, all within a smaller community-focused hospital setting.
A caregiver in this position works nights from 6:30PM – 7:00AM, with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
- Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
- Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications/treatments and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
- Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Experience in critical care
- Bachelor’s Degree

Physical Requirements:

Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.

Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
