Exceptional care is a team effort – both at the bedside and in an office. As a Manager of Patient Flow, you will support and lead the Regional Transfer Center that helps facilitate transfers to and from Cleveland Clinic facilities. Caregivers in this position will oversee bed management and transfer for our Florida market.
Caregivers in this role will work Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with 24/7 availability.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Manage department personnel and operations in patient flow and throughput.
- Ensure appropriateness of scripts, assessment criteria, and follow-up procedures.
- Oversee the accurate processing of inbound and outbound calls.
- Ensure appropriate referrals, entry of caller demographics, and the generation of outgoing correspondence.
- Facilitate patient/customer interrelations within the Health System at all levels, including providers and provider office caregivers.
- Identify and resolve issues affecting patient flow across health system.
- Facilitate and maintain positive working relationships with medical, nursing and support departments within the organization by fostering communications regarding program direction and initiative, soliciting stakeholders' input, and proactively communicate with senior management.
- Manage staffing to ensure appropriate allocation and compliance with goals and objectives.
- Monitor quality and financial performance.
- Supervise and control budgets.
- Ensure departmental compliance with applicable local, state, national regulatory bodies, such as The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and Ohio Department of Health, and departmental standards.
- Monitor internal processes essential to capacity management, such as resource allocation and issue resolution
- Analyze programs and processes to recommend strategies to improve metrics and cost savings.
- Resolve interdepartmental issues to ensure consistency in quality, procedure and policy application.
- Complete performance management processes for the team.
- Develop, monitor and implement programs to enhance the patient experience, develop skills and improve scope of service.
- Participate in managers' meetings and relevant committees both within and outside the department as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor’s degree in health administration, business administration or a related field
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Two years clinical experience (i.e. RN, Paramedic or other allied health field)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Two years supervisory or management experience in a healthcare setting
- Working knowledge of hospital ADT and bed management software programs

Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment.
- May require extended periods of sitting, standing and walking.
- Must be able to walk to attend meetings; must have normal or corrected vision to normal range.
- Ability to clearly communicate by phone and in person.
- Requires daily travel to multiple sites and physician offices.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $36.80
Maximum hourly: $56.13
