Avon Hospital’s Emergency Department provides comprehensive emergency care to adults and children 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care, implementing and monitoring patient care plans, administering medication and treatments, assessing and coordinating patients’ discharge plans, and monitoring, recording and communicating patients’ condition. This position offers opportunities for growth, including becoming certified after two years, participating in professional development classes, and getting involved in committees as a champion of falls prevention, stroke awareness, and hand hygiene. Team members are also promoted enterprise-wide to Assistant Nurse Managers (ANMs), supporting advancement across the Cleveland Clinic system.
This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working various shifts between 12:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Implement and monitor patient care plans.
-
Monitor, record and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.

Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
-
Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
-
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
-
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
-
One year of current acute care RN and/or Emergency Department experience. Will consider military RN experience
-
External applicants must have two years of recent related nursing experience OR Internal applicants with less than two years of experience, but post orientation /90-day probationary period may be considered with Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
-
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department

Pass all prescreen competency assessments
