As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will ensure patients receive their prescriptions accurately, timely and respectfully. You will appropriately select, dose, administer and dispense medications as indicated, helping provide patients with the treatments they need to improve their health and well-being. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered and evidence-based pharmacy and medication services.
- Ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medication orders.
- Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
- Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
- Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives.
- Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.
- Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
- Provide cost-effective care.
- Be accountable for drug use policy adherence.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy
- Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire
- Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or two years of relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Board Certification
- Post-Graduate Year 2 Residency (PCY2) or relevant experience for Clinical Pharmacists in a specialized area
- Hospital experience
