As a Telecommunications Engineer, you will assist in managing telecommunications projects within the Cleveland Clinic enterprise. In this role, you can expect to collaborate with others, establish and provide solutions and provide support and consultation, ultimately helping enhance the department and meet objectives.
A caregiver in this position works remotely out of Ohio, Florida, or Nevada, Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm, with on-call requirements once every 4-8 weeks for one-week 24/7.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Collaborate to create telecommunication platforms and associated software specifications and configurations.
-
Use telephone systems and ancillary sub-systems to establish and provide effective, enduring and economical telecommunication business solutions throughout the enterprise and geographic service areas.

Provide support and consultation for voice switch, storage and transport applications.
-
Interpret business needs and determine appropriate telecom equipment and/or applications to fulfill those needs.
-
Provide, outline and document effective and economical solutions to telecommunication business requirements as constrained by governing budgets and regulatory guidelines.
-
Manage medium to large projects utilizing defined project management methodologies while coordinating efforts of telecommunication project participants.

Assist in providing resources, installation and supervision of projects making telecommunication solutions operational.

Obtain ITIL Foundations Certification within six months of hire.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications and five years of practical telecommunications experience OR eight years of practical telecommunications experience
-
Experience in basic system administration, LEC order processing, call center applications, voicemail applications, customer database collection/build, vendor management/quote evaluation, project management, unified messaging, PBX configuration/installation, voice contingency planning OR other applications specific to Cleveland Clinic
-
Ability to accurately identify faults and failures, cause and effect and assist in rapid resolution

Current telecommunications product and application knowledge
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
-
In-depth engineering-level expertise supporting Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and the broader Cisco Collaboration portfolio, including SME.

Windows servers familiarity with ServiceNow and change control processes in a large, complex health care environment
-
Strong understanding of SIP and analysis of SIP messaging to identify issues
-
Demonstrated knowledge of E911 regulations and experience with RedSky Legacy PBX/telecom experience is a plus
-
Ability to work remotely while managing various workload, schedules and meetings requirements

Demonstrated experience deploying, maintaining, and upgrading Cisco IOS-based Voice Gateways Engineering experience supporting large-scale, multi-cluster infrastructures in mission-critical healthcare environments

Experience opening Cisco TAC cases and working with Cisco TAC engineers
-
Demonstrated experience troubleshooting issues in a large, complex, health care environment

Experience with certs and working with AD security groups, Solid understanding of networking (LAN/WAN) in a very large, distributed environment

Demonstrated experience learning and implementing new applications
-
Healthcare and IT experience on platforms, technologies, networking/interconnect requirements, telephone infrastructure and applications deployed throughout Cleveland Clinic

Must be on-call for one week every 4 weeks Must be able to work after-hours as needed

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience assisting Caregivers at all levels

A positive, can-do attitude is essential, along with the ability to thrive in environments with multiple, competing priorities

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $30.41
Maximum hourly: $46.38
