As an RN on the OR Surgery team, you will assist them and other fellow caregivers in providing exceptional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 7:00AM – 3:30PM, with one Saturday/six-week period requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Deliver professional nursing care in an operative setting to adult and pediatric patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
- Perform scrub functions, such as selecting and handling instruments and supplies.
- Perform circulating functions, such as monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing the overall nursing care of patients before, during and after the procedure.
- Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure and patient positioning.
- Prepare the Operating Room, surgical instruments and surgical equipment for use.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- One year of recent related clinical experience for internal applications OR two years for external applications

Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
