Material Handlers are responsible for replenishing supplies, linens and materials and facilitating the distribution of product orders needed for patient care. In this role, you will exhibit Cleveland Clinic’s mission and values by striving to achieve and sustain the best patient experience possible. A caregiver in this position works Tuesday through Saturday 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Support the hospital supervisor on project work.

Collaborate with management to improve daily activities.
-
Support areas that care for patients with higher level of acuity and volume.
-
Receive products from shipping and receiving area, unpack and inspect items for damage, verify accuracy of shipment and input information in the warehouse management system.
-
Receive, sort, put away, pick and deliver supplies, mail, patient records and other items as required.
-
Rotate stock and check for outdates.
-
Handle returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication.
-
Support Site Managers with communications with customers to fulfill areas’ stocking needs and anticipate future needs.

Deliver supplies and materials to appropriate floors and health care facilities.

Monitor the flow of traffic into dock areas, prioritizing deliveries ensuring the safe receipt of goods and supplies.

Put away freight, supplies, packages and perishable items from dock facilities using materials handling equipment.

Stock picking locations using the warehouse management system, either manually or utilizing materials handling equipment according to identifying information (size, style, and numbers) ensuring the safe movement of materials.

Perform physical count of stock for inventory control verification and rotate stock to minimize loss of materials.

Perform cycle counting as required.

Survey, fill, and stock nursing floors and clinical areas to maintain inventory levels.

Deliver items using necessary equipment to appropriate hospital locations.

Unload and unpack cases and stocks designated storage areas with supplies.

Respond to inquiries related to materials in stock, ordering procedures, status of item, or filled orders.

Perform routine expiry management duties to meet KPIs.

Ensure products meet quality requirements

Maintain a proper and appropriate professional and ethical relationship with vendor representatives and conduct business according to established principles and guidelines.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Meet all Cleveland Clinic insurance requirements

Valid Driver’s License (VDL) for box trucks
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

High School Diploma or GED

One year of Materials Management or related experience

Inventory knowledge and basic computer skills
