As a Physical Therapist in the Pelvic Health Department, you will create a healing atmosphere that enhances the patient and family experience. You will provide exceptional and highly specialized treatment tailored to the unique needs and health concerns of your patients. Because you work with ailing and in pain populations, remaining sensitive and compassionate is important in helping them regain their health, confidence and strength. Additionally, you can explore numerous professional development opportunities, such as individual interest groups, physician collaboration and specialty practices.
A caregiver in this position works rotating days/evenings from 8:30AM – 5:00PM or 10:00AM – 6:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
- Interpret plans and supervise patient treatments in accordance with the physician referral, ensuring the care, safety and wellbeing of the patient.
- Review and evaluate the patient's response or lack thereof to treatment.
- Make recommendations to the physician relative to the need to continue or discontinue physical therapy treatment.
- Provide appropriate documentation of each patient visit in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Be responsible for the maintenance and care of all equipment and apparatus.
- Be responsible for the economical use of supplies, linens and utilities.
- Provide appropriate billing for each patient visit in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist in on-the-job training of all ancillary personnel.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor’s Degree or certificate
- Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association or related international degree
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Internship experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Acute care experience
- Pelvic Health Certification
- Spinal treatment experience
