Open Nursing Support Roles

    We have a wide variety of roles for you to support our outstanding patient care team.

    You will play a key role in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients. You will be responsible for:

    • Providing or assisting with patient care under the supervision of an RN
    • Taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, providing point-of-care testing, changing dressings, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheters.
    • Reporting abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
    • Assisting with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.

    Working as a Medical Assistant will provide you with limitless opportunities to make a significant difference in our patients’ lives. Among your important responsibilities, you will:

    • Help perform screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests and documenting patient care.
    • Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
    • Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas.
    • Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.

    We have openings for Clinical Technicians in a wide variety of settings and units. In this role, you will:

    • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN.
    • Take vital signs/weight, assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, handle patient transfers/transport, perform pulse oximetry, deliver point-of-care testing, change dressings, apply external monitoring devices and remove urinary Foley catheters.
    • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
    • Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.

    As part of one of our outstanding surgical teams, in either an inpatient or outpatient setting, you will:

    • Set up the sterile table and ensure that appropriate supplies, drugs and equipment are available.
    • Assist RNs in counting sponges and instruments during surgery.
    • Assist in gowning and gloving surgical team members and draping patients.
    • Ensure aseptic condition is maintained by the scrubbed surgical team through the procedure.
    • Participate in the intraoperative “timeout.”
    • Collect, identify and label specimens removed during surgical procedures and give specimens to circulator for disposition.

    With our extensive system of outpatient clinics, we have a broad range of opportunities for caregivers who will:

    • Utilize medical and administrative skills to support patients and caregivers.
    • Assist with performing assessments and treatments.
    • Gather and update information related to health maintenance and specimen collection.
    • Document patient care.
    • Identify medication changes and update allergies at each visit.
    • Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
    • Administer specific medications under the direction of a physician.
    • Maintain exam rooms, equipment and medical supplies.
    • Assist in pre-visit planning and updating health maintenance tabs.
    • Complete filing, reception duties, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
    • Travel to other Cleveland Clinic locations as needed.

    We seek skilled, empathetic caregivers for our LPN roles who will:

    • Provide professional nursing care to patients.
    • Administer medication.
    • Maintain complete and accurate documentation in medical records and files.
    • Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
    • Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
    • Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
    • Follow Code Blue protocol.
