The Director of Digital Fundraising Strategy is responsible for developing and leading the overarching strategy for digital fundraising in support of Cleveland Clinic’s philanthropic priorities. This role provides strategic leadership for digital fundraising initiatives, evaluates emerging opportunities and technologies, and ensures that digital efforts are aligned with organizational goals, donor expectations, and industry best practices. The Director serves as a key leader in shaping the future of digital philanthropy by leveraging research, data, technology, and cross-functional collaboration to drive growth, innovation, compliance, and operational excellence.
A caregiver in this role works remotely in Northeast Ohio Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Identify individual and corporate sponsorship prospects, volunteers, and donors using databases, physicians, volunteers, and internal colleagues.

Develop funding proposals that align donor, sponsor, and volunteer interests with organizational priorities.

Coordinate donor communications and stewardship reporting related to organizational priorities, needs, and use of gifts.

Strategically engage volunteers in planning events and initiatives to broaden participation and support fundraising efforts.

Collaborate with internal partners to execute philanthropic initiatives, including foundation grant applications, cause marketing, fundraising events, and annual fund activities.

Develop and lead the overall strategy for digital fundraising initiatives, including donor acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue growth.

Establish key performance indicators and use data-driven insights to evaluate and optimize digital fundraising performance.

Conduct industry research to identify trends, benchmarks, and best practices in digital fundraising, donor engagement, and philanthropy technology.

Evaluate and assess emerging technologies, platforms, and digital tools for potential use in fundraising strategies.

Serve as subject matter expert for third-party fundraising and marketing technology vendors, including evaluation, selection, implementation, and ongoing management (e.g., GoFundMe Pro, HubSpot, Twilio, Double the Donation).

Partner with internal stakeholders across philanthropy, marketing, communications, IT, legal, compliance, and finance to align digital fundraising strategies and ensure coordination.

Oversee compliance, governance, and risk management related to digital fundraising, data use, online giving platforms, and third-party partnerships.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor’s Degree
-
Five years of experience in project management, donor relations, event management, marketing or soliciting of corporate sponsors

Transferable skills may offset some of the experience requirement
-
Demonstrated success and experience in event management and marketing strategies
-
Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills
-
Ability to establish and maintain friendly and cooperative relations with individuals contacted during the course of work, (e.g., corporate executives, volunteers, staff physicians, etc.)

Ability to perform well in a highly interactive, dynamic team environment
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Strong knowledge of digital fundraising platforms, donor engagement tools and CRM

Demonstrated experience developing and leading digital fundraising strategies in a complex organization

Experience evaluating and managing external vendors, platforms, and technology partners

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data and market insights into actionable recommendations

Knowledge of compliance, privacy, and risk considerations related to digital fundraising and donor data
Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.

Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.

Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $84,200.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $128,412.50

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
